Hey, what’s up guys? It’s Ryan with Flagship out front of our duplex here in LaGrange, Georgia. We are finished with the exception of cleaning. The cleaner is here now. So let’s show you the finished product. I’ll probably just show you the front unit because she’s working in the back unit, but they’re pretty similar. The back unit’s just bigger, but the finishes and everything are similar. Let’s check it out.
Here we are on the exterior. Prior to me buying it was like a blue, weird blue color. We went with a sage green color. I think it turned out pretty good with a cream base, so pretty pleased with how the exterior paint looks. We cleaned up a lot of the landscape and got some pine straw out here. But really on the outside we just painted it, fixed all the wood. There’s some wood up here on this porch needed to be replaced. Put in a mini split in the front unit for heating and air. But let’s go check out the inside.
Here we are inside of the front unit of our duplex here in LaGrange. As we do in most of our houses, it’s got LBP all throughout the house, so we changed out all the floors. One of the big things that made this house so much cooler is it’s just common here in LaGrange, for whatever reason, for people to put drop ceiling in. So this ceiling, we probably created five more feet of ceiling height just by taking the drop ceiling out, raising it back to the normal level of ceiling height. Added a new light up there, and so it looks so much bigger and more open in here. Per usual, we have our stainless steel appliances. We put new cabinets in this kitchen, granite countertops, so it’s a really nice small unit.
This is a two-bed, one-bath unit, so you’ve got kind of your first bedroom there as you walk in the door. You got your second bedroom here. We went with mini-split, a mini-split system in this apartment for heating and cooling. We’re going to see how that looks. I haven’t done that before, but this is such a small unit, didn’t make sense to me to put a whole central heat and air system. So we’ve got one in each bedroom that kind of flow air out towards the common areas as well.
So second bedroom here, we’ve got another mini-split unit here to heat and cool the home. And so what’s interesting about this one, I don’t know if it’s going to be functionally used as a two-bedroom or one-bedroom. I guess in theory, you could kind of make this little galley a small, very small living area, or it can just be your dining area and you can use one of the bedrooms as the living area. But technically, it’s a two-bedroom. We’ll see how people use it, but we’ve got bedroom here, bedroom here, bathroom here off the back bedroom. So we just cleaned this bathroom up, new shower head, new toilet, vanity, mirror. So yeah, super excited about this. The location’s great and can’t wait to see, can’t wait to get some folks in here living.
